Since I celebrated my birthday in June, I just have to share all the fun that was had over my birthday week! I would say it was definitely Harry Potter themed to the max!
Early in the week I went to afternoon tea at a local bakery where I enjoyed hot tea, tea sandwiches, cupcakes, eclairs, and scones. Very British!
On my actual birthday I had a Harry Potter themed day hosted by my amazing sister. She decorated the house and for afternoon tea made Dobby’s Pasties (a handheld potpie of sorts), Pumpkin Pasties, prosciutto wrapped asparagus, and of course tea in my Harry Potter tea set.
For supper we had a Harry Potter themed meal, our family recipe, 5-hour stew, that was served in homemade bread bowls. Yummy!!!!
We watched Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban while eating cream cheese pound cake to round off our evening! If you have never had this kind of cake before, please do try it sometime. It is so delicious!
Also involved in the birthday festivities was a trip to Indianapolis Zoo! Although the did not have jellyfish (my favorite zoo animal), they did have snakes! This just really rounded out the Harry Potter themed week!
